The song starts out with him (me) singing to the Lord my doubts, shortcomings and desires and towards the middle it changes and it's what he hears the Lord singing back to him (me). I cry almost everytime I have a chance to actually sit and listen to what the song is saying.... it's beautiful.
I know i need you; I need to love you
I love to see you, and its been so long
I long to feel you I feel this need for you
and i need to hear youis that so wrong?
Now you pulled me near you when we're close i fear you
Still im afraid to tell you all that i've done
are you done forgiving?
or can you pass my pretending?
Lord i'm so tired of defending what i've become what have i become?
I hear you say "my love is over, its underneath, its inside, its in between
the times you doubt me,
When you can't feel
The times that you've questioned 'is this for real?
'the times you've broken,
the times that you mend
the times you hate me
and the times that you bend
Well my love is over, its underneath its inside, its in between,
These times you're healing
and when your heart breaks
The times that you feel like you've fallen from grace
The times you're hurting
The times that you heal
The times you go hungry and are tempted to steal
in times of confusion and chaos and pain
I'm there in your sorrow under the weight of your shame
I'm there through your heartache
I'm there in the storm
My love i will keep you by my power alone
I dont care where you've fallen,
Where you have been
I'll never forsake you
My love never ends, it never ends

Swimming in the Wave Pool
Please do not stand there and talk, whine, or ask questions.
Wait until I get out.
Yes, it is locked. I want it that way.
It is not broken, I am not trapped.
I know I have left it unlocked, and even open at times,
since you were born, because I was afraid
some horrible tragedy might occur
while I was in there,
but it's been 10 years and I want some
Do not ask me how long I will be.
I will come out when I am done.
Do not bring the phone to the bathroom door.
Do not go running back to the phone yelling
She's in the BATHROOM!
Do not begin to fight as soon as I go in.
Do not stick your little fingers under the door and wiggle them.
This was funny when you were two.
Do not slide pennies, Legos, or notes under the door.
Even when you were two this got a little tiresome.
If you have followed me down the hall talking,
and are still talking as you face this closed door,
please turn around, walk away,
and wait for me in another room.
I will be glad to listen to you when I am done.
And yes, I still love you.

I read this verse this past weekend and again today and it really affected me, it penetrated right to the heart of some issues that me and my family faced recently (and are still facing in some ways). It brought me to ask the questions: How often do we (I) lift ourself up rather than allowing God to? How often are we using our words and actions to benefit our own self (or those we care most about) rather than others?
I usually fail daily in this area of my life. Most of the time, I feel this urge inside of me making me think that I must somehow bring it to the attention of those around me my "good" qualities and works while leaving out all the bad ones. And on the flip side of that it's much easier to point out the faults of others than in myself. How true it is to that it's easier to find a speck in another's eye while ignoring the log in our own (Matthew 7:1-5).
I want to live my life loving others, truly I do, and I somehow think that I am good at this - until there is a difficult person in my path and I find it much easier to ignore and dislike this person than to love them. I want and need to do better at this.
To start I am going to work on using my words to not lift myself up but to praise others - and while I am going to start with my friends and family, I pray that I will be able to get to the point in my life where I can also praise those less-likeable in my life. I no longer want personal differences to stop me from seeing the good in people. While I can agree to disagree with certain people and I can create boundaries for myself, I can also love those I feel this towards.
We made it back from vacation, it was a blast but as always it was nice to come home again too. For those of you that don't know, we spent the week at the Wilderness Hotel in Wisconsin Dells with our good friends from Madison. Their two kids and Treyton had a blast in the waterparks!! Our room was super awesome and we look forward to visiting again.
This week will be alot of catch up and getting back into the real world - I have spent all day doing laundry, trying to do a little school with Treyton and cleaning (mopping and the bathroooms). I didn't get a chance to clean before we left so I have to do it now.
After our "vacation" we participated in my baby sister's wedding and while it was a stressful few days before the wedding the ceremony and reception turned out beautifully. I hope to post more on her wedding later. However, on sunday she and her husband left for their new home in Virginia. I will miss her so much!! (I love you Alana!) Please keep her in your prayers as she starts her new life so far from home. It isn't easy on her but we know that she is going to do great!
I am trying to download pictures now so hopefully I will have some up in the next day or so.

I posted some pictures of our box and some crafts here
Keeping the Right Perspective on Homeschooling. No, Homeschooling mom's do not have it ALL together. Every day is an adventure! Anyone who wants to homeschool can do it!! Don't be surprised if your homeschool day doesn't go as perfectly as planned - no ones does!! Read an article from a 5 year homeschooler --- you may be surprised by what you find --- she's more like you than you may think!!
Mark Driscoll is, chapter by chapter, releasing his book-- "Porn-Again Christian" -- online, for FREE. Publishers have turned down the option of publishing this book because of Driscoll's straightforward handling of these issues-- I'm guessing this is one interesting book, relative to our culture, honoring to God, and offensive to the rigidly religious among us. But wasn't Jesus all of those things?

Socialists Everywhere"Presently, the bottom 40% of income earners pay zero income taxes. The top 20% pay 80% of all the federal income taxes. Therefore, it is not possible to give the bottom 40% a tax cut because they pay no money to the government. So this begs the question: How is Barack Obama proposing to give a tax cut to 95% of Americans? The truth is that he is not going to give a tax cut to most Americans; it is not possible. Instead, he is going to give welfare subsidy to the bottom 40%. This subsidy Obama is calling a ‘tax cut,’ but in reality it is a tax increase in an attempt to redistribute wealth."

Making a list of prices on items that you normally purchase is a good idea to help you never pay more for an item than you should. My friend Jessica talks a little about her price list here and she also recommended a blog post by Erin on a "Never Pay More Than" list Jessica posted her own List as well, both can be helpful. Regardless of what you call it, if you're trying to stretch your dollar you'll find these posts helpful in learning the difference between a real sale and "fake" sale.

Back in the beginning of the summer Treyton and I started playing some cute little educational games on-line, he really liked it but wasn't able to do much at all on his own - which was fine at the time cause it was just the two of us. Once the baby came I wasn't as able to play games with him on-line so he hadn't done any for a while. This week with school we started doing it again and Treyton is loving it!! Right now, the one we primarily use is the fisher price one and that's great so far, but I know that soon enough he will want more - so I'm looking for recommendations - what GOOD (morally and educationaly) websites do you know of or use for your preschool kids to play on.
Oh Yeah and FREE would be nice!
Comment Back and let us all know what you use!

I am one of those that struggle with this. Therfore, most of my comments had to do with thinking more positively especially in regards to our prayer life. However, I don't want to give the wrong impression of what was trying to be said or even what I believe.
I believe that when we pray, often times we fail to even imagine a positive answer from God. It shows a lack of trust and faith on our part. Many of us (myself included) struggle with this simple form of faith. Sadly, this can often pour into our basic core belief that our God is GOOD regardless of what His answer is to our prayers. This belief effects our prayer life and even while we're saying our prayer, making our petition before God we can begin to think of a "back-up" method.... "what can I do to fix this? or to answer this prayer?" We may not even give God the chance to answer yet. By believing and thinking on positive answers to our prayers we have a better chance of developing a faithful attitude and response while even waiting for our answer. It's about standing on God's Word which says we have the authority through His name. Through all of this, we will have a deeper Joy and relationship with God. And as a result of that we will live more freely in His will.
I hope that this clarifies my earlier post more clearly.

"Fear is the opposite of Faith"... and we have no problem imagining the worst possible scenario for the negative, playing out our fears in our minds is normal, what I'm telling you to do is the opposite. (my paraphrase) "Some of you are sick physically just because you see it before it happens" "What I'm telling you to do is the opposite, how about seeing the answer to your prayer before it happens!"
"To the point where you can actually rehearse this answer, it's like you start to see your answer, you start to believe it before you receive it. How can you believe it before you see it? Because you always believe what you can see but you're not seeing it here (your eyes) but you're seeing it here (your heart)."
"You've got to get to this place where you can start to truly experience God's answer in your heart, in your mind, before you actually recieve it."
"Just doing it (praising God) isn't the key, you will naturally do this if you sill start picturing God's answer in your life" "You great experts at worrying, do the opposite, you rehearse it in your mind: the best possible scenario.... You just stop at times and you just think and you just imagine, 'how wonderful it's going to be when God answers my prayers'.... it changes you physically. You can't help but praise Him, It's
"The word hope means 'an absolute calm assurance'... we have changed it's meaning to wishing."
"It's not this false new age visualizing, it's interesting how they do that.... The false stuff is close to the real thing. It's about getting to a place where you can have faith.... Where you can start believing God for miracles."

Mackenzie Allen Philip's youngest daughter, Missy has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack dep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later, in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend.
Against his better judgement he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack's world forever. In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant THE SHACK wrestles with the timeless question "Where is God in a world filled with unsepakable pain?" The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You'll want everyone you know to read this book.
One of the points that impacted me the most was how though I love and serve God, in reality I don't think of Him as being truly "GOOD". I often think that He is judgemental or controling, that He doesn't really love me.... it's hard for me to put it into words. I had no problem thinking that Jesus loved me or that He was good. But when it came to God the Father.... that was a different story. This books really helped change my view of certain aspects of God's character.
The following is a conversation between Mackenzie and God:
"The real underlying flaw in your life, Mackenzie, is that you don't think that I am good. If you knew I was good and that everything - the means, the ends, and all the processes of individual lives - is all covered by my goodness, then while you might not always understand what I am doing, you would trust me. But you don't....."
...."You cannot produce trust just like you cannot "do" humility. It either is or it isn't"....
....[Mackenzie says] "I don't know how to change that"
"You can't, not alone. But together we will watch that change take place. For now I just want you to be with me and discover that our relationship is not about erformance or you having to please me. I'm not a bully, not some self-centered emanding little deity insisting on my own way. I am good, and I desire only what is best for you. You cannot find that through guilt or condemnation or coercion, only through a relationship of love. And I do love you."
...[Mackenzie says] "I just can't imagine any final outcome that would
justify all this."
... "We're not justifying it. We are redeeming it."
