Tim's Hand Update

We had Tim's appointment this afternoon. Dr. L did remove one of his pins and then pulled the second pin up past the knuckle.
In all honesty, the pulling out of the pin was not nearly as horrific as I thought it would be. Tim handled it very well and said "it hurt, but it wasn't too bad"

Tim had another x-ray done to make sure he pulled the pin out far enough (for Tim to bend his first knuckle) and to see how the finger was healing. The finger is healing really well, the doctor was impressed, but the pin did need to be pulled out more.

All-in-all the appointment went well, but Tim's finger is MUCH more painful. He says he actually feels like he re-broke it (we know this isn't the case because they took the x-ray) but he says even the smallest touch or vibration causes a stinging feeling down his finger.
He is not able to bend his finger at all, even if he (or the doctor) forces it to bend, the pain is excruciating and real tight.

Tim starts occupational therapy this week - he has one appointment, and then next week he will begin therapy 3 times a week for 6 weeks. Tim still has a long road ahead of him, but the doctor seems confident that Tim will regain at least partial use of the fingers.
