Audrey's Appointment 12.7.09

We had Audrey's 24 week appointment this morning. I had Tim come with me today because I wanted to make sure I explained to my doctor why we decided not to see the specialists and to make sure that I wasn't pressured into making any medical decisions I wasn't comfortable with.
Needless to say, it wasn't necessary. My doctor was very understanding about our decision not to see the specialist and when Tim said regardless of the diagnosis we were going to keep the baby and let the pregnancy proceed normally, our doctor was like "yeah, it makes sense why you wouldn't see the specialist."

The appointment went great - I gained 6 pounds!! (I was a little shocked! Up to this point I have only put on a pound or 2 between appointments) Baby's heartrate was great - it took Dr. O a little while to find it because Audrey was moving so much (which Tim and the doc witnessed by the waves on my baby bump). I am measuring right on as well.

We have another appointment in 4 weeks where we will have another ultrasound to monitor the amniotic band/sheet (whatever it is) and will also have my glucose test done. This appointment is after the first of the year.

Just a little word of encouragement- my Aunt had an ultrasound when she was pregnant with my cousin and the Dr. told them quite assuredly that Brittany was not going to be 'right.' They said she would be born with her intestines outside her body and that she had no 'female parts' and wouldn't live very long. The Dr. reccomended termination but due to my Aunt and Uncle's pro-life view they wouldn't hear of it.

Britt was born perfectly healthy with ABSOLUTELY NO COMPLICATIONS OR ABNORMALITIES! She is now 22 and married with full ability to have a child. Either God did a huge miracle, the Dr was wrong- OR BOTH!

I'm happy you made the decision you felt led to, and I'll be praying that God takes care of Audrey and you during the rest of the pregnancy and delivery.
