Review: The Lord’s Prayer

image The Lord’s Prayer written by Dr. R.T. Kendall

Book Description:

“No prayer is better known--or more misunderstood--than the prayer Jesus provided in his Sermon on the Mount. Turning a keen eye to this much-loved topic, R. T. Kendall unlocks the transforming truths of what we now call the Lord's Prayer. With wisdom and depth, he offers thoughtful exposition on the life-changing revelations contained in each line of this amazing prayer, including: * interpreting and praying in the will of God * the purpose of the Lord's Prayer * when to pray the Lord's Prayer * how unanswered prayer can be a sign of God's favor * misusing the Lord's Prayer * why pray at all? * and more Readers will come away not only with a model for prayer, but with a revolutionary way to pray effectively while drawing closer to the Father.”

My Review:

"Not every prayer in this world is inspired by the Holy SpiritWhen you pray the Lord’s prayer you pray in His will” How powerful and true a statement Kendall makes in the introduction of his book. Knowing this shows us why this is such an important prayer to study and learn from.

With a strong Biblical basis, Kendall breaks down the Lord’s prayer statement-by-statement and digs in deeper to get to the real meaning and purpose behind the most prayed prayer in the world, all the while teaching us valuable lessons about prayer in general.

This book was grounded in scripture, covered with technical and theological facts as well as applicable lessons and illustrations. This book has something to teach everyone. I walked away from this book feeling more educated, inspired, convicted and encouraged. I will definitely revisit this book in the future.

A good read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers for the purpose of reviewing it. The opinions expressed are my own.
