Vacation 2010: Day 7 – Rest Day

On Friday, we had made plans to go down to Virginia Beach, but decided Thursday night that we didn’t want to drive the 3 hours (one way) it would take to get there. IMG_0002Big Mama, was getting a little worn down with all the “vacationing” and keeping up with everything, so instead we decided to have a rest day with Aunt Nana and Uncle Mitch.

They took the time to show us a little of Quantico Base (where they live). We ate lunch at a local cafe’ and walked down to the Marina. IMG_0004That night, they took us to their Japanese Habachi and Sushi restaurant a town over. The food was great and the cook was very friendly with Treyton.

It was nice to spend our last day together as a down day. Mitch and Alana were so sweet to open up there home, and it was a PERFECT set-up: we had the entire upstairs for our family. Two bedrooms, a bathroom, and large landing area. Plenty of sleeping space and a quiet area for early bedtimes and naps. We couldn’t have asked for more, and all the while not intruding on their every-day lifestyle (they still had their own bedrooms). IMG_0123  Seeing my little niece, Madison, who I don’t get to see very often was the best part for sure!! She is 9 months now, nearly walking, and has the cutest personality. She has the most precious little one-toothed grin I’ve ever seen. She is going to be a handful, that much is obvious, but I’d have to say her parents need a little of that to keep them honest :)

She seems to know how cute she is which means she’s going to be a handful for her mom and dad, but I think every parent needs one of those in the family (to keep them on their toes :))

One of the neatest things about having so many babies in the family at one time is to see how similar and different they look from one another. Madison seems to be a blend of both Peyton and Audrey. They each have their own unique look, but they definitely look related to one another, and obviously, all of them are beautiful.

I love these pictures of the girls, watch Madison take the toy from Audrey, and then Audrey go for it again, while Madison smiles like she didn’t do anything wrong :) LOVE IT!  Oh, and that look you see in Madison’s eyes (mostly in the 2nd and 3rd pictures), that I’m so cute, I could never do anything wrong look --- she always looks like that – she has this twinkle that makes it impossible not to smile at her.  I miss her already. IMG_0005 IMG_0006 IMG_0008IMG_0010 Thank you Mitch, Alana and Madison for putting up with our family for 5 long days!! We had a great time and can’t wait to come back and visit some time again… maybe next time in North Carolina! Miss you and love you!!
