image In Search of the Light written by Leonard Jacobson

Product Description:

Spiritual teacher Leondard Jacobson shares some of the secrets to finding inner joy and happiness in this beautifully illustrated story which helps children to overcome fear and judgment and find that quiet inner place of peace and silence.

Come on a journey of discovery with Ned the Horse, Peter Rabbit, Bert the brave little Bumblebee and Molly Mouse as they set off in search of the light.

Guided by the wind, our reluctant heroes pass through the forest of fear, eventually finding their way to a land where nothing seems right. Following instructions given to them by several wise characters they meet along the way, they discover a path which leads them straight to the source of the light. When they find what they are searching for, they are so amazed that they laugh and dance with joy and delight.

Product Review:

I want to start this review by saying, that I failed to do my research when I agreed to review this book. I misunderstood what it was about when I too quickly read over the description.

It only took me getting through 1 of the short chapters before I realized that I was not going to read it to the kids.

This book does not align with our lifestyle and spiritual beliefs. It is more of a “new agey” book, promoting, meditation, inner strength, inner beauty and a journey towards peace and tranquility among four animal friends seeking “the light”. These things are not things that we find preached and highlighted and scripture, so they are not things that we participate in or practice.

While the story was “cute” and the illustrations were beautifully done, I cannot recommend this book.

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book for the purpose of my review. The opinions expressed are my own.
